Silca Strip Chip Chain Lube/Wax

Strip Chip Chain Lube/Wax is an innovative chain waxing prep additive from SILCA that simplifies and improves the hot wax lubrication process for bike chains.

Instead of having to degrease a new factory chain with harsh chemicals before waxing, the Strip Chip lets you skip that step. You simply drop one of the Strip Chip squares into your hot wax pot, add your chain, and let it soak for about 10 minutes. The Strip Chip binds with the factory grease on the chain and converts it into a wax-like substance, allowing the hot wax to penetrate deeply into pins and rollers for better lubrication and quieter, smoother drivetrain performance.

The product comes in a candy-bar style form, containing six individual 12 g pieces per pack — typically one piece is used per chain. The wax used with it (sold separately) can be reused for multiple chains, and the Strip Chip helps keep the wax clean by encapsulating contaminants at the bottom of the pot.
